Position Overview:
We are seeking a vastly proficient and qualified IT Configuration Specialist III to join our IT team. As an IT Configuration Specialist III, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the configuration management process for our organization's IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for overseeing the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network components. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the smooth operation and optimization of our IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Analyzes changes of IT product design to determine the effect on the end product design and function and determines and prepares documentation necessary for change.
· Coordinates with customers and manufacturers to determine a process for change reporting.
· Reviews released engineering change data and changes documenting activities to ensure adherence to configuration management procedures and policies.
· Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT configuration management or a similar role.
· In-depth knowledge of configuration management principles, practices, and tools (e.g., CMDB, version control systems).
· Proficiency in using configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar automation frameworks.
· Solid understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) principles and processes, especially in the area of configuration management.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex configuration-related issues.
· Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
· Familiarity with software development methodologies and release management processes.
· Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
· Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
· Having a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
· Knowledge of network infrastructure components and technologies.
· Experience with incident and problem management processes and tools.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Configuration Management Database (CMDB), or relevant vendor-specific certifications are desirable.
